Casa do Mirante

After the visit to Gorreana Tea Factory, on Friday 24^th 2015, a co-worker and I followed the walking trail “PRC 28 SMI – Chá Gorreana”.

This circular route begins right outside the Tea Factory and takes us along the tea plantations.

We crossed the street and we found ourselves surrounded by innumerable bushes of Camellia sinensis – the tea plant.

From Casa do Mirante (Lookout House), a building now in ruins, one has a great view over the North Coast of the island. However, by the time we arrived there, the sun was already gone, thus the view was not so fascinating.

At some points of the trail there were no visible trail marking. After a careful look around, we saw the marks hidden by the vegetation or fallen on the ground.

This is a hiking trail for all ages. It’s easy and short. It’s also a good option for those who are short on time (just like us).
